MotoGP, Carchedi: "In certain conditions Marquez is the bravest."

"The rain helped him, but he already had pace. Martin's pit stop? That's where Marc realized he could win. To arrive at the title we are missing the details. The mistake in qualifying could have cost us dearly."

MotoGP: Carchedi:

After the glorious weekend in Aragon, Marquez returned to celebrate on the top step of the podium in Sunday's first of two Misano races. And to think that the champion of Cervera was the protagonist of a crash in Q2 that risked thwarting all his and the team's efforts and hopes, but while in the Sprint Race he did not go beyond fifth place, in the GP he put on a show to the sound of overtaking and strategy.

Sharing the emotions of that day to the microphones of TNT Sports, the 31-year-old's crew chief Frankie Carchedi admitted he breathed a sigh of relief at the checkered flag. "At the Marco Simoncelli circuit the start determines the course of the race and certainly the rain helped, but Marc was already in good shape and even if there hadn't been any rain, he would have been there in any case. Having said that in certain conditions he is the bravest of the brave," he praised his rider.

Jorge Martin's return to the pit box for the bike change was definitely the key moment. "He realized he could win. In the end, we don't know how many times it will happen to him again this year," he revealed, not hiding a certain pragmatism.

Irrespective of this low-key attitude, the results of the last few races are making the possibility of a world title more and more concrete considering that today the eight-time world champion is only 53 points behind the leader and anything can still happen.

"At MotorLand everything went in the best possible way, while on the Romagna track that was not the case even though we started working from Friday with the goal of getting closer to our direct rivals. The mistake in qualifying threatened to cost us dearly, which means that there are still some details to focus on. Otherwise, the pace was never a problem," he concluded without going out on a limb too much.
