The bikes are ready, the leathers are ready to be put on and... the track is wet. It's every enthusiast's nightmare, and it was also the nightmare of the VR46 Riders Academy riders who came to Galliano Park to train. In those cases, the solution is usually to go home, but sometimes stubbornness and a bit of madness can get the better of even the weather.
You can see what happened on that day below and it's a story bordering on the surreal, to the point of almost seeming scripted. It started with Bezzecchi and Bagnaia armed with brooms and blowers trying to dry the asphalt and then, aided also by Morbidelli, getting into the car to try to speed things up, while Carlo Casabianca (trainer and Academy manager) did everything he can to keep them from getting on the bike.
Then there was Vietti who was stranded on the highway after running out of gas and Pecco who had a bright idea to sort out the day: "let's groove the tyres by hand!" Bez supported the project, acting...as a guinea pig.
Unbelievable but true: it worked. After drying the track, Marco also set the best time. Well-deserved.
