MotoGP, Masini: "Marquez's secret weapon? The atmosphere in the Gresini team."

"Victory at Misano with Fausto's bike is something incredible. Only a champion like Marc could ride like that. It's like we brought home 50 points. Hopes for the title? We'll see in Asia what happens."

MotoGP: Masini:

Many observers claimed it was only a matter of time, and indeed it was. Marquez could not have lost that talent that has always distinguished him and as soon as he got some confidence with his new office, that is the Ducati Demosedici GP,  he was back to his winning ways. After the magical weekend in Aragon in which he took the pole and victory in the Sprint Race and GP, the Spaniard instead of gloating has gone back to rolling up his sleeves and in Misano he won the Sunday race again sending all the members of Gresini Racing into ecstasy.

Speaking to the Spanish newspaper Marca, still stoked with all the emotions that victory in front of the Romagna crowd brought with it, sporting director Michele Masini said, "I've been part of what is a family for 18 years and this is a special day. It was an unexpected success because for sure we expected a comeback in Marc-style, but it is in the light of the track conditions that only a champion like him could interpret so it was superlative."

"If you add to this that we were racing at home and with Fausto's bike, it is something indescribable and priceless. It's as if he gained 50 points and not 25. We're having a golden moment, he's enjoying riding the Desmosedici, he's very fast and the atmosphere in the box is fantastic. We have to continue like this," he continued enthusiastically.

Unlike business manager Carlo Merlini, who was courageous enough to claim he believes in the title, for the engineer it is better to be more cautious. "I prefer not to think about it now. The math will come later, but it is also true that this state of grace is giving us a hand in the overall standings. We will see where we stand after the second round at the Marco Simoncelli circuit. In Asia we will encounter a different kind of asphalt and other conditions. We could play out it differently, but we have to continue in this way. I really think the winning weapon is the atmosphere in the team," he concluded, praising the unity and synergy of the group.
