It is now official, although the news had been in the air for a few days: the Italtrans Racing team has announced an agreement with 21-year-old Adrian Huertas from Madrid, who will make his debut in the Moto2 World Championship next year with the Italian team.
After becoming World Champion in the Supersport 300 class in 2021, Adrian is currently in his third year in World Supersport. This year under the colors of Aruba Racing WorldSSP riding a Ducati Panigale V2, he is currently leading the Championship standings thanks to 11 podiums (8 wins, 2 seconds and one third place).
Next year Adrian will join the confirmed Diogo Moreira in Italtrans.
Laura Bertulessi, Team Owner, said: “We are happy to announce the agreement with Adrian Huertas. He is a talented young rider, who has shown great determination and professionalism, which have led him to achieve excellent results in his still-short career. Our philosophy is to help and support young riders to realize their dreams. Adrian will make his debut in Moto2 with three years of experience on bikes with similar characteristics and Pirelli tires. We think this will help him to adapt quickly to a tough class like Moto2. I want to thank Dennis for the two seasons with us. We are very sorry that the expected results did not come, but we are sure that his undisputed talent will still give him much satisfaction. Good luck Dennis!”.
