MotoGP, A. Marquez: "Marc winning at Aragon? Bagnaia and Martin will improve a lot."

"So much will depend on how the asphalt evolves, although we know Marc's qualities well and, as of now, he's the favorite. To make the time, I closed my eyes. I was flying blind today."

MotoGP: A. Marquez:

Alex Marquez is one of the riders who directly accessed the Q2. The Spanish rider reached the fifth quickest time, ahead of Bagnaia's Ducati. This is certainly an encouraging sign for the Gresini rider, despite the difficulties encountered throughout the day.

"I way fying blind today," he began. "At the first exit, I had a technical problem with the rear soft tire, which made me lose time. So when I started my time attack, I only had the soft as a reference, and I only thought about giving it my all."

Can you tell us what happened?
"Unfortunately, because of the technical problem, I didn't have much to try this day. What matters is being in the Q2. It was really difficult, because we didn't really try anything. So tomorrow we will try to improve, assess some aspects, and be more competitive."

What do you think of the new asphalt?
"With the new asphalt, the rear pushes on the front, and you can't ride the way you want. It's true that you have more grip, but you have to figure out how to be more consistent. Today is only Friday, and tomorrow we'll have more feedback."

How complicated was it to get directly into the Q2?
"I only did six laps on the soft. When it was time for the time attack, I closed my eyes. I just thought about pushing because I didn't have any other information to rely on."

Does Marc seem ready for his first win?
"So far, definitely, because he has everything to win. However, we have to see how the situation with the asphalt will evolve and also the steps forward that the other riders will take, namely Pecco and Martin, because I'm convinced that they'll improve a lot. However, we know what Marc's qualities are."
