These are crucial days for Andrea Iannone's future. The Maniac knows this, and that's why he's taking his time, in order to decide what the best choice for his 2025 is going to be. Some expected him to reach a decision as early as last week, but the rider from Vasto is in no hurry and is trying to figure out all the possible solutions.
Barring any resounding twists and turns, there are two viable paths for #29. The first is Go Eleven, with Andrea who would continue with the Ducati again next year, extending his adventure with the team headed by Gianni Ramello.
Regarding 2025, we're convinced that Iannone has made it clear to Ducati and Go Eleven what his requests are so that he will be able to continue on the adventure he began last year.
The second path is, instead, the one that leads to GRT, where Andread would receive a two-year contract with Yamaha Motor Europe and factory treatment, something that, at present, Ducati can't guarantee him. As already written in the past, he'd have are two sponsors: namely Prometeon and PATA, with the latter that decided to invest in Andrea in March, to the extent that Remo Gobbi's brand appeared on his suit and bike.
In Portimao, the parties met, and Yamaha showed their interest in him. Of course, it's fair to emphasize that Aegerter isn't out of the GRT project, because the brand is making all the appropriate assessments, as is Andrea, knowing that Yamaha was clear about how much the brand wants to invest in him and, at the same time, the technical aspect involved.
One of the innovations planned for next season on the R1 are wings, and there's also talk of an update for the engine, although this would require a new homologation. So we'll see how the negotiations evolve, with the Magny-Cours round that promises to be a crucial moment for the The Maniac's future.
