MotoGP, Barros: "Bagnaia will suffer with Marquez, but he will have Rossi's help."

"If Marc were to start making a difference there will be a lot of tension in the team in favor of KTM and Aprilia. Pecco's Ducati is better than Martin's. In corner exit he has more power."

MotoGP: Barros:

Protagonist of the MotoGP premier class from 1990 to 2007 Alex Barros spoke out on what the current championship is demonstrating, and without fear of being unpopular he says that Bagnaia's form is spoiled by a technical superiority that comes from a Ducati tailor-made for him.

"Without taking any credit away from Pecco, who is having a brilliant season, I notice that his bike has more power, especially in corner exit. At that point it is clear that Martin is in greater difficulty. I don't know if there are other points, but they are certainly less obvious. When you are facing two riders of equivalent level, anything extra makes a difference," he told the Motosan website.

According to the Brazilian, the reigning champion enjoys specially developed material and more in general the GP24 is now be a good step ahead of the previous version: "Before Mugello there were more possibilities for those who rode the GP23. In Jerez, for example, if Marquez had not crashed on Saturday he could have won the race on Sunday. Instead, today I see that despite starting well he cannot keep up with the pace of the other two."

In 2025, the rider from Piedmont and the Catalan will find themselves sharing the same box, a situation the 53-year-old envisions as explosive. "Bagnaia is an Academy rider and he knows Rossi's opinion of Marquez because of everything that happened between them, so even if he doesn't show it, they are not friends. If next year Marc, who has just arrived, were to make a difference maybe already in the winter there will be a lot of controversy and a high level of rivalry. Managing two riders like that is complicated. In the eyes of the public it will be fine, but internally it will be tough," is his prediction of a fratricidal war that will test the nerves of the Borgo Panigale management.

"Should they start to bother each other or fall out, they could help Aprilia and KTM if equipped with a good bike," he continued in his reasoning before revealing details of a chat he had with the Doctor himself at the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo WEC race.

"Valentino has very clear ideas and told me that he will help Pecco in every way possible. It will be a difficult year, but for sure the Italian's long period in Ducati, the two titles and the third on the way, as well as the progress of the Desmosedici, will be kept in mind, but the arrival of a rider capable of altering the equilibrium will change things in the course of the season," he concluded.
