Currently, there's only one opponent for Francesco Bagnaia in the world championship: Jorge Martin. And the outcome of the championship is still uncertain.
But both Enea Bastianini and Marc Marquez could also fight for the win. The former has already won a Grand Prix, at Silverstone, with a one-two. The latter hasn't yet won a race but, with each passing Grand Prix, he's proven to us how his potential increasingly improved.
After the Sachsenring, Davide Tardozzi - who showed his enthusiasm with his usual eagerness - expressed his opinion.
"Obviously, Jorge and Pecco made the difference," the team manager told AS. "And we're also very happy for Enea, who got off to a very bad start on Friday and, in the end, brought home a very important podium. He come from a great race in England and, here, he encountered problems as soon as he arrived. But between his work, and that of the team, they managed to get through the weekend. He completed the Ducati hat trick, which is his eighth in a row in the MotoGP."
For much of the race, however, everyone was watching Marc Marquez, who, despite starting from the front row, was unable to insert the shapeshifter and had to make a comeback race, from 13th to 4th place.
"I said Márquez would fight for the victory on Sunday and, if we look at the second half of the race, he was the fastest rider on the track," Tardozzi recalled "With a good start, he could've competed for the podium and maybe even the win."
Many wonder if that will happen. Davide Tardozzi prefers to focus on the upcoming races.
"Now we're focusing on our championship. Marc will be with us next year," he said. "But, right now, our official riders are Pecco and Enea, so we expect them to reach the best result possible. That said, we're not blindfolded, and we know that Marc has great potential. We'll enjoy next year, but he'll win a race before the end of the season."
