All that was missing was official confirmation and now it has arrived: Fabio Di Giannantonio will continue for two more years with VR46 and Ducati. The Roman rider, who arrived in Valentino's team at the end of last year by the skin of his teeth, has proven that he deserves the job in this first half of 2024 and has obtained a two-year contract for 2025 and 2026 directly with Ducati. Not only that, because in the coming years he will ride an official bike.
"Nine months ago I found myself without a bike to continue my dream and today I sign a contract with two of the most important entities in MotoGP, it's hard to believe," recalled Di Giannantonio. "I am very happy to be able to continue this fantastic journey together with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team and Ducati Corse for the next two seasons. I arrived here almost by chance, I felt immediately at home and with the team we are doing really well. I want to thank Vale, Uccio, Pablo, the whole team, Ducati and my staff, we left no stone unturned. We open a new understanding, I can't wait. I will be on track for two years with the factory Ducati, we can and must aim to achieve ambitious results. It's a great project, where I feel 100% involved and we can fight for the top step of the podium. We keep working, we grow weekend after weekend: this is an additional confidence boost to always give our best."
Alessio Salucci, Team Director of VR46, added: "The two-year 2025/2026 Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is starting to take shape. After the announcement of the partnership with Ducati last week, today we can confirm that Fabio, thanks to the agreement signed directly with the Borgo Panigale manufacturer, will wear the team's fluorescent yellow for the next two seasons. I can't hide my satisfaction, he has come in on tiptoe, he is working so hard, he is always there with the strongest and he deserves to reap so much satisfaction. This is a very important moment for the future of the team, the relationship with Ducati is getting stronger and stronger and we can only thank Pertamina Lubricants and all our partners who support us and continue to believe in this ambitious project."
Luigi Dall'Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse, commented, "we are happy to have Fabio Di Giannantonio among our Ducati riders for the next two years. Diggia has always shown great confidence in our project and his dedication and talent have led him to grow steadily in MotoGP. We are confident that together with the VR46 Racing Team and having an official Desmosedici GP he will have even more opportunities to bring out his full potential. Welcome officially to the Ducati family, Fabio!"
