At Silverstone, Ducati literally dominated by placing three bikes on the podium and eight in the top 10. An extraordinary result that came on a track not as generous in 2023 when on Sunday the only Rossa in the top five was that of Pecco Bagnaia, which the general manager of the racing department Gigi dall'Igna celebrated as a choral feat of the team.
"As always we try to focus on the problems and I think we did a good job," were his words to Sky, "We improved the GP24 in the aspects where the GP23 was a little weaker and it showed here as it did on other tracks. The guys at home have been fantastic."
No one sleeps on their laurels at Borgo Panigale, and even last year's Desmosedici has not been abandoned. "When you understand mechanisms and issues it is easier to apply solutions, so what can be improved on the old bike will be applied during the rest of the championship," he pointed out.
Absolute protagonist of the British round was Enea Bastianini, winner of both the Sprint and the GP, sacrificed for 2025 in favor of Marc Marquez. "I am extremely happy for him. Unfortunately, we had to choose one rider out of three, however, all of them would have deserved to be in the official team. As I have always said, it was a very difficult decision to make from a professional and sporting point of view, but also a human one. It's clear that I'm also here to receive criticism and I accept it as it should be," the engineer admitted, before scaling back the idea of the brand's absolute supremacy even in the coming World Championship.
"Each year is a completely new book and a lot will depend on how the various teams have worked over the winter. We already have ideas that we are developing, but you never know what the competition can do. What is important, however, is to focus on today, then we will think about next year. Personally, I am happy with the performance of the motorcycle. We've been on very good levels for a long time and we hope to continue this way," he concluded with his feet firmly planted on the ground.
