After reaching the podium in Germany, Alex Marquez wasn't as incisive in England. Sixth in the Sprint Race and seventh on Sunday, the Spanish rider struggled to manage some aspects of his GP23, such as the front tire, which prevented him from battling it out with the small group up in front.
"It wasn't that bad, maybe I should have made a better start so I could have put myself in a position to battle with the strongest, but in the first few laps I had a small problem with the front brake and so I lost contact with Marc and the others. Later I was able to recover, so overall I had a solid race and I'm happy with that. Coming back from vacation with a good level was important," said the Gresini Racing rider trying not to throw away what he told from the Silverstone weekend.
Making a comparison with Fabio Di Giannantonio, who had the same Desmosedici and with whom took part in a good duel, the 28-year-old stated: "We had a similar pace and both of us had a good race, but he had more at the end. I was able to manage the rear tire but, with the one in front, I started to suffer, especially on the right side, and that didn't help."
Finally, the rider from Cervera highlighted the difference in performance between the current Ducati and his 2023. "This is the first season in which we see such a clear difference between bikes of the same brand and two different years. I hope Gigi dall'Igna goes on vacation, so my GP24 in the next championship won't be that far behind the GP25."
