MotoGP, Bezzecchi, GP at risk: "It was a shorter race than expected."

No injury but a severe contusion to the right foot for the VR46 rider after a fall with Morbidelli. Following a medical check-up, he was declared fit to race tomorrow. "We'll use these hours for physiotherapy, and we'll better understand my condition tomorrow."

MotoGP: Bezzecchi, GP at risk:

It was a complicated day for Marco Bezzecchi, who started in the Sprint from the 12th box and was prematurely forced to retire due to an accident at Turn 1 with Franco Morbidelli. The VR46 team rider was  catapulted off of his GP23 and took a nasty fall on the asphalt at Silverstone.

He was transported to the medical center for a check-up, which ruled out injuries to his right foot, confirming a contusion, but he was still declared "fit to race" for tomorrow's long race. The young rider will undergo physiotherapy and will assess his condition in tomorrow's warm-up.

"It was definitely a shorter race than expected," Bezzecchi said. "I didn't have a bad sprint at the start. I tried to keep the inside at the first corner, but I just felt a big bump and was in the air. The impact with the asphalt was hard. I immediately felt pain in my foot but, after having X-rays at the medical center, we ruled out any injury. The contusion is sore. I'm going to try to take advantage of these hours to recuperat with physiotherapy and figure out in what condition I'll be able to return to the track tomorrow."
