Honda reaches its 30th victory at the Suzuka 8 Hours, with Takahashi setting a new record and Zarco becoming the 1st French rider to win since 1989. Here are numbers and some trivia on the 45th edition of the Japanese race.

Less than two weeks ago, the historic Suzuka track hosted the 45th edition of the famous 8 Hours, the most anticipated event of the World Endurance season. It was an exciting race, in which the Honda crew, with Takumi Takahashi, Johann Zarco, and Teppei Nagoe, triumphed. The big favorites didn't betray expectations, conquering their 30th triumph, preceding their rivals from the YART team, who climbed to the top of the championship standings thanks to their first podium in the Land of the Rising Sun, ahead of the SERT team, direct rival of Niccolò Canepa, Karel Hanika, and Marvin Fritz in the title race.

Key numbers from the 2024 Suzuka 8 Hours

Here are the key statistics that emerged from the second to last round of the EWC season:

- 30th win at Suzuka 8 Hours for Honda; third consecutive for the HRC team

- 7.860 seconds separated top two after 8 intense hours of racing

- 6 wins at Suzuka 8 Hours for Takumi Takahashi; new record

- 220 laps completed by Team HRC and YART, beating previous benchmark of 219 set by Team Cabin in 2002
