MotoGP: Joan Mir at Honda HRC for two more seasons

Despite Honda not experiencing one of its best moments in history Joan Mir has agreed to renew his contract with HRC for two more seasons. Having arrived in the Moto3 in 2016 and already the following year able to take home the title thanks to ten race wins, after a brief move to Moto 2, in 2019 he arrived in MotoGP where in the following championship he made his mark with Suzuki.

With 12 wins and 33 podiums behind him, the Spaniard is therefore preparing to join Luca Marini again in 2025. "It was my goal to continue this partnership and I have been able to achieve it. HRC and I have been in partnership since 2023 and I believe that by continuing to input my opinions to HRC, I can contribute to improving the RC213V. I know what I need to do and what Honda can achieve, so I hope that we can both acheive it. We will continue to work hard for the future for the remainder of the season," were the rider's words.

"This has been a tough season, unlike anything they have ever experienced before, but even in these circumstances, Mir has trusted the team, and we are very grateful for his attitude of never giving up and fighting at any time. We, along with Mir, would like to work together with all the stakeholders to make a comeback and do our best to meet the expectations of our fans as soon as possible. Once again, thank you to all the fans who always support us," was the official comment of HRC President Koji Watanabe.
