The Pierer Mobility Group is reviewing the positioning of its brands in motorcycle racing. After deciding to withdraw GASGAS, from next year Husqvarna will no longer be in the GP world either. It should be noted that this in any case was a marketing operation because under the colors of the Spanish and Swedish brand there were KTMs, in MotoGP and Moto3, and a Kalex in Moto2.
Husqvarna made its Moto3 debut in 2014 with the Ajo team, while in 2015 it was the Laglisse team that had the brand on its fairings. After a four-year absence, the Swedish company returned to MotoGP with the Max Racing team and, after the team's closure, continued its presence with the Intact GP team, also in Moto2, since 2022.
Confirming the decision to Speedweek was Hubert Trunkenpolz, a member of the board of Pierer Mobility Group: "KTM will return to its roots, which is why the activities in motorsport will increasingly shift to this brand. However, we will not abandon the others: GASGAS wants to attract young riders and we will see it in Moto3, while Husqvarna will be prominently represented in all off-road sports."
