There has been much talk about Toprak's BMW seat at Donington, which was raised on Saturday evening following a request for clarification made by Ducati to the FIM. And still on the subject of BMWs and components, however, there was another no small change on the Turkish rider's M 1000 RR last weekend.
Yep, because at Donington the handlebars on the German bike were raised 50 millimeters compared to previous rounds. The reason was to meet Toprak's demands, giving him better aerodynamics when riding the BMW and at the same time better ergonomics on the bike.
Actually, with the previous version of the handlebars, Toprak tended to lean out of the fairing, thus tending to load a lot on the front. With this change, however, Razgatlioglu now has a better position but above all a better weight balance so that it is distributed more on the rear .
This, then, is the reason for the raised handlebars even before the much-discussed seat.
