SBK: End of soap opera: no MotoGP, Toprak stays in Superbike in 2025!

Toprak Razgatlioglu is not moving. The Turkish rider will race in Superbike again next year, thus fulfilling the contract signed last spring with BMW. Despite market rumors (put out by his manager, Sofuoglu) that he was close to jumping to the other paddock, in the end the #54 will remain in SBK in 2025.

It has certainly been quite an eventful few weeks on the market front between rumors, denials and much more. In the end Kenan Sofuoglu wanted to clear the air once and for all: " I have seen that some MotoGP satellite teams are talking about Toprak," Sofuoglu told Speedweek.com, " However, we have never contacted a satellite team. Instead, some factory teams have shown interest in Toprak for the 2025 season. The fact is that we have a two-year contract with BMW and, as I have already said, only the moment BMW agrees we will go to MotoGP. We don't want to break our contract much less fight, as we love BMW and have already achieved great success together. In fact, we are happy and want to continue this relationship with them for a long time to come."

So it will be Superbike for next year as well: "I can confirm without any problems that Toprak will race in Superbike with BMW also in 2025, as envisaged by the contract," assured the former SSP champion, "there is a very interesting project around him and we want his happiness."

Therefore, for the possible arrival in MotoGP it will be necessary to wait: "Of course Toprak wants to race in MotoGP, but this will not be possible before 2026 .By the way, we have never ended our relationship with a manufacturer in a negative way. With Kawasaki we have remained on good terms and the same goes for Yamaha, consequently also with BMW it is our intention to maintain a very good relationship. We will certainly stay with BMW in SBK until the end of 2025, then we will see."

The Toprak soap opera thus reaches its end credits with the Turkish rider remaining in the championship reserved for Superbike next season as well.
