SBK, Gardner: "We'll try to fight for the podium, but Toprak and Ducati are on another level"

Remy, the best in Yamaha: "This isn't a track that suits the qualities of our bike. There are few smooth spots, and it's not easy."

SBK: Gardner:

The positive note in Yamaha comes from Remy Gardner, who was the fastest on Friday in Misano among the R1s, reaching the fourth fastest time. Not a bad for the GRT rider, who confirmed his potential with the Japanese bike.

"To tell you the truth, we've always been fast this year," he said. "Unfortunately, we had a bit of bad luck at Phillip Island, but we were podium material. Barcelona, on the other hand, wasn't a good track for us, but we got a good result on Sunday. Then we got the podium in Assen, and I hope it's the first of many."

Apparently, Toprak and Ducati seem to have something more.
"We'll try to keep up with them. The Yamaha corners well. Many riders had problems in this heat with the front, while we had less. The pace isn't bad, but it's not Toprak's or Alvaro's, who were impressive."

Rea's is one of the Yamahas chasing.
"We've improved in terms of grip in maximum lean angle, and what we did in testing proved to be important. Obviously, there's still a lot to do, and we're not stopping."

The objective of chasing is to try to get on the podium.
"I think we can try to fight for it here in Misano. It certainly won't be easy, because it never is. Assen was a track that was more suited to our package because it was more fluid, while there are few corners to make the bike flow here in Misano. So we'll see what's going to happen."
