Auto - News: Verstappen:

Given how the weekend turned out, with more difficulties than expected, Max Verstappen certainly couldn't have imagined an outcome in his favor. But, instead, with the classic luck that helps the bold and rewards champions, the Dutch rider managed to bring Red Bull new joy, taking an increasing lead in the overall drivers championship, and confirming that he was at home on the Montreal circuit, where he had already won in 2022 and 2023.

"It was a crazy race, but we faced it calmly, stopping at the right time. Actually, the safety cars helped us. But, even in the later stages, I was able to manage the gap well. I really enjoyed myself. I had to sometimes battle with McLaren and Mercedes. From time to time, there's a need for races like that. The suspension problem? We know what it is, and we have to solve it, The most important thing is tha,t in spite of everything else, we won, and we have room for growth," he commented.

Lando Norris appeared less satisfied. Having started third, he really believed in a resounding recovery. "It was a coatic GP but, as far as I'm concerned, I did well from start to finish. The first two stints were very good and with a great pace. Unfortunately, the safety car, which had helped me in Miami, penalized me here. Racing in these conditions is very stressful, but I enjoyed it all the same. It was too bad because, before the safety car, I was leading the group by twelve seconds. Overall, though, it's okay, since we earned valuable points for the team. I don't want to complain, only to emphasize the good level of the single-seater and the fact that we're close to the leader and again on the podium," the Woking driver said.

Lastly, George Russell was disappointed in not being able to take advantage of the pole position: "I feel it as a missed opportunity. At the beginning of the race, we were fast with the mediums, but the MCL38 then made a comeback, and I made a couple of mistakes pushing to the limit. On the positive side, we're back to having a car that can fight for the victory. If I hadn't lost my position on Hamilton by fighting with Piastri, I could've maybe finished second. When there's only a dry trajectory, it becomes complicated to duel it out," he concluded.
