MotoGP, Morbidelli: "I'm over my injury, and I'm done with the adaptation to the Ducati."

"My next goal is to be in the top 5 in every GP. Today's race? All good, until I experienced problems when braking, so I preferred to limit myself instead of falling."

MotoGP: Morbidelli:

At the end of the Sprint Race, he had finished in 4th place. Franco Morbidelli wasn't afraid to show his cards and confess that he aspired to reach the top three as early as this Sunday. Evidently, however, it wasn't meant to be, and the Pramac rider finished the Mugello GP in 6th place, in spite of some good news in terms of sensations on the bike.

"It was a solid weekend. I was constantly improving and was hoping for more today but, at one point, I had to give up some, because I was near the limit with the brakes. Let's say I preferred to limit myself  rather than throw it all away like at Montmeló, since the podium was also far off. Martin and Bastianini were lapping at least three tenths quicker, but I was with them, for a stretch. Only when I started to struggle did I slow down," he admitted. "Overall, I'm happy. We already made progress in Barcelona, and we were able to further progress here at the start by bringing out our potential. That said, I'm still nine seconds behind the winner and three tenths off the pole position."

Some riders suffered from a physical point of view. "No, I don't think so, even if this is a trying track because of the many changes in direction. Compared to 2023, I haven't noticed any differences, from this point of view," he confided.

Even in view of today's performance, the rider from Rome seems to finally be able to control the Ducati. "I couldn't do the tests, but I used the first four or five GPs as if those were. Now that period has ended, even quite well and quickly. It was tough, but I have so many people near me who give me strength to deal with the normal critical issues for a sportsman. We have to keep working like this. Tomorrow's session? I don't know if I'll try anything new. I'll talk about it with the team, but it's going to be crucial to focus on the setting. My next goal? To have the speed to always start from the first two rows and finish in the top five."

Finally, it was impossible not to return to the subject of the riders market. "I don't know much about it and would talk nonsense," he cut it short.
