Moto3: David Alonso record-breaking FP1 at Mugello, three Italians in top ten

The Mugello FP1 begins in the name of David Alonso. During the morning session, the current world championship leader set a record time of 1'55"818, proving to be the only one under 1'56". A certainly encouraging start for the Colombian rider who's on the hunt for his third consecutive win on the Italian track, after Le Mans and Barcelona.

Alonso sent a message to his competition after trimming a second off the first of his pursuers, namely Yamanaka who, in turn, was chased by Rueda. His direct rival for the world championship challenge, namely Holgado, ended in 4th, at one second and three tenths from the top.

As for the Italians, Stefano Nepa appeared in the top five, while Luca Lunetta was 8th and Matteo Bertelle 10th. So, we have three Italians in the top ten but, to find the others, we have to go way down to the 15th position, with Riccardo Rossi. Instead, Carraro was 23rd and Farioli 25th.

It was cloudy this morning at Mugello, with a temperature of 18°C, and measuring 20° C on the asphalt.
