SBK: Toprak irrepressible: destroys the track record in Misano with the BMW!

At 6 p.m. the first day of Superbike testing in Misano ended, and on this occasion there was no shortage of battles on the track. For more information ask Toprak Razgatlioglu, Thursday's protagonist thanks to a new track record of 1'32"663. On this occasion the Turk lowered by four tenths the performance of last year achieved by Alvaro Bautista, sending a clear signal of what is his level of competitiveness.

Speaking of the world champion, the Spaniard concluded this first day in third position at 488 thousandths from the top, preceded by his own teammate, namely Nicolò Bulega, who missed out on the best time by only 68 thousandths.

Toprak and Nicolò are therefore the only ones to have gone under the wall of 1'33" finding great confidence on the Riviera track. In close contact with the top positions then appears Johnny Rea, author of the fourth quickest time at half a second from the top ahead of Sam Lowes.

After a long time, the Northern Irishman returns to being the fastest Yamaha on the track while Locatelli is sixth, chased by Andrea Iannone, almost a second behind the top. The Maniac preferred not to go in search of a quick time, preceding Gardner 's R1 with van der Mark and Bassani rounding out the top ten.

Speaking of Bassani, in the afternoon the best-performing Kawasaki on the track was indeed his since Lowes did not go any better than the 12th time preceded by Tito Rabat 's ZX-10RR in Puccetti colors.

Looking at the other Italian riders: Danilo Petrucci was the protagonist of the 13th time of the day one second and eight tenths behind Toprak. Just remember that for Petrux it was his return to the Panigale after the nasty motocross accident in April. Behind him Michele Pirro on the Ducati of the test team.

Followed by the Hondas of Lecuona and Vierge as well as the Yamahas of Aegerter and Oettl.
