SBK, Petrucci: "Overjoyed, but I've never felt so much pain on a bike"

"I'm happy because I'm back on my Ducati, and I still remember how to ride. I also did well and had fun, despite the severe pain in my shoulder."

SBK: Petrucci:

The first of two test days at Misano ended with a 13th quickest time, at one second and eight tenths from the benchmark set by Toprak Razgatlioglu. But Danilo Petrucci had something to be happy about at the end of the day. Thursday represented Petrux's return to the track after last April's violent motocross accident in which he fractured his jaw and right collarbone.

"Today is a great day for me. I'm back on my bike, surrounded by my entire team. I was so happy to be back and spend a day with them, despite the severe pain in my shoulder," the Terni-born rider said, expressing how happy he was but tired from the laps he completed on the Barni Spark Racing's Panigale V4R.

"I don't remember ever feeling that much pain on a bike when braking. But I'm overjoyed, because I still remember how to ride a bike," Danilo added, jokingly. "I also did well and had fun, despite the pain at every turn. I'm happy, and tomorrow I'll test some more, because riding my bike is really great."
