SBK: Only Ana Carrasco goes quicker than Roberta Ponziani in tests at Cremona

The weather conditions might have changed, but the track verdict did not, because at the end of the second and final day of action at the Cremona track, it was Ana Carrasco who confirmed herself to be the queen of the first official test of the Women's WorldWCR. After setting the best time of the day on a rain-affected WorldWCR debut Thursday, the Evan Bros team rider repeated the feat on this dry Friday as well, taking the pole as the fastest rider with a time of 1'41"446 set in the last of the day's seven sessions.

The only one to go under the wall of 1'42", the 2018 World Supersport 300 champion thus managed to get the better of Roberta Ponziani, first of the chasers thanks to a time of 1'42"121 set in the fifth practice session, by 675 thousandths. A nice head-to-head that between the Spaniard and the CIV Women's champion, leader at mid-day riding the R7 of the Motoxracing team. Third place, more than a second from the top, went to Sara Sanchez, behind whom was a steadily improving Beatriz Neila, who set her own best benchmark by stopping the clock at 1'43"124 in today's penultimate session.

Rounding out the top five was Adela Ourednickov ahead of Tayla Relph, who slotted into sixth place thanks to a 1'43"571 time set in the final minutes of the day. Seventh was South African Team Trasimeno's Jessica Howden, followed by Mallory Dobbs, Lucy Michel and Isis Carreno, who rounded out the day's Top 10.

After these two days of official testing, the Women's World Championship girls will be back in action in June at the Misano track, where they will face the first round of the championship season, as part of the World Superbike weekend.

Times from the second day of testing in Cremona.
