MotoGP, Acosta: "Me better than the official KTMs? Only the points finish counts."

"I suffered from front tire overheating and I had the hard, for Miller on soft it must have been worse. Too bad about the start where I was blocked by Bezzecchi and Di Giannantonio, but the race was good."

MotoGP: Acosta:

His French weekend got off to a great start, but when the time came Pedro Acosta was unable to confirm it in the race. Seventh at the start, the talented Spaniard had to settle for sixth place.

"Everything became complicated at the start, then instead the race pace was good. If I had to make a judgment, I would therefore say a bad start, but then good. In particular I encountered difficulties at turn 3 when I found myself in front of Di Giannantonio and Bezzecchi, who was a little too conservative toward those on the outside. In the end Marco passed, while Fabio and I found ourselves with the rear sliding. As I said, despite the critical issues encountered in overtaking we did not do badly," he analyzed his Sprint Race.

Asked if the MotoGP Michelin tire is making his life easier compared to his past experience in Moto 2, the 19-year-old confided, "In the past, conserving tires was not the priority, but as I mentioned yesterday we have one of the most efficient bikes in the group as far as the front is concerned, particularly in terms of grip. This allows us to take advantage of different lines to be fast."

In conclusion, commenting on the race of the official KTM riders, who came in behind him once again, the GasGas Tech 3 team rider declared, "It doesn't mean anything. Then Miller chose the soft in front and I imagine he suffered from overheating as much or more than me who had the hard compound. I think there is more to be happy about the new points finish, although four is not many. But maybe they could prove to be important."
