Aprilia now has a new satellite team, and Massimo Rivola is behind Trackhouse Racing’s arrival in the MotoGP. It’s not for nothing that the manager was present at the team’s presentation to welcome Justin Marks to the World Championship. The collaboration is very stressful, as Rivola himself explained to us, when he was intercepted outside SKY studios after the presentation.
“We couldn't miss an opportunity that was very stimulating on paper, both on a brand and on a market level, but also on s technical level, because Trackhouse’s demands are important, in order to provide bikes as similar to the official ones as possible,” Aprilia Racing’s CEO emphasized. “We’re in December. We’re getting prepared for miracles, as they say. We’ll try to do our best. It’s great to have an American team in the MotoGP, and the fact that it’s with Aprilia is really cool.”
The arrival of the Americans in the World Championship will be fundamental for entering a very important market.
“That’s how it’s going to have to be. The thing I told Dorna was that we’ll now need a second Grand Prix in the north of the United States.” Rivola seized the moment. “I know that work is being done to expand our penetration in the USA. The Formula 1 has a huge advantage because they can race in the city. We can’t, and we have to find alternative ways. I think we have a unique show. We’ve had many American champions in the past, and who knows if, in the future, we’ll have another one with Trackhouse and Aprilia.”
Lastly, he spoke about Cryptodata, which became the majority shareholder of Razlan Razali’s RNF team last year.
“I felt really good working with Razlan but, at the end of last year, he had lost the title sponsor and found a solution that didn’t work. I feel sorry for him on a human level, but I’m convinced that we’ll see him again in the paddock, because everyone loved him in the MotoGP. I wish him well, but today we have to look ahead, not back,” the manager concluded.
