It all started in 1973, when Jack Findlay won the Tourist Trophy (then a round of the world championship) on a Suzuki 500 and a pair of Michelin tyres. It was the first success in the premier class for the French tyre manufacturer who 50 years later, in the Indonesian Grand Prix, celebrated its 500th victory thanks to Pecco Bagnaia.
Half a century of successes and innovations: in 1974 the debut of the first slick tyre, in 1984 that of radial tyres, in 1994 the asymmetric construction. To celebrate, Michelin has created a video in which it tells its story through the words of the riders. From Mamola to Biaggi, from Rossi to Bezzecchi, passing through Binder, Oliveira and many others: the history of the world championship and the best victories of each rider illustrated in the video.
Enjoy!
