Gigi Dall'Igna was visibly satisfied at having found his champion again after Bagnaia's victory at Mandalika and he made no secret of it. Interviewed by Sky TV after the race, he didn't hold back with his compliments: "I would say that Pecco really reacted like a champion, it wasn't easy after the drubbing he took yesterday. He did a splendid, intelligent race, it's difficult to add anything else."
The Venetian engineer also explained the technical reasons for Bagnaia's resurgence: "the medium rear tyre made an important difference and also from a setup point of view we made some evolutions, but Pecco made the biggest contribution and did a masterpiece of a race".
Finally, the general manager of Ducati Corse commented on the situation in the championship, with Bagnaia now 18 points ahead of Martin. “It will be a fratricidal war for us, but it will be nice to see them fight until the end” he concluded.
