MotoGP, Bastianini: “It’s more difficult to get the most out of the GP23 than the GP22”

“I’m not at my best. I need time and many kilometers to get back to having fun. Marquez on the Ducati will be a problem from the very first race.”

MotoGP: Bastianini: “It’s more difficult to get the most out of the GP23 than the GP22”

Looks who’s back ... Enea Bastianini found his Ducati again in Mandalika after his fall in Barcelona. The rider from Romagna can’t wait to get back on his Ducati GP23 with the aim of starting from where he left off at Montmelò.

Enea missed four Grand Prixs this month, and the test promises to be really difficult. But he knows that, and he doesn’t intend to throw in the towel.

“I’m happy to be back,” Bastianini said. “I’m not totally in shape, but I definitely want to start again. It’s very hot here in Indonesia but, like I said, I can’t wait to have fun with my Ducati. The FP1 will be the first time I get my hands on the bike, and I don't think that'll be a problem. I’m definitely excited.”

Enea will have to make up for lost time and close the gap with his competition.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t at the Misano test, since it was important for me. Unfortunately, on that occasion, I wasn’t able to test. I need to lap as much as possible. Compared to the GP22, the GP23 is a more complicated bike to get the most out of. On the track, Pecco and Jorge had an incredible pace, while I need time and kilometers.”

Finally, he spoke about Marquez’s arrival in Gresini.
“Marc will be fast. I was already convinced that his brother Alex would be. In fact, I had told Nadia. Marquez will be a problem from the very first race.”
