MotoGP: Marco Bezzecchi underwent collarbone surgery: Indonesian GP at risk

As we had mentioned last night, Marco Bezzecchi fractured his right collarbone yesterday while training at the Ranch. The VR46 team rider already underwent surgery this morning and, even if the official press release stated that it went well, it doesn’t specify whether he’ll be able to be in Mandalika in a few days to race in the Indonesian GP.

Marco was taken to the Orthopedic-Trauma Unit at the Policlinico hospital in Modena. The surgery to reduce the collarbone fracture, which lasted an hour and a half, was performed by Professor Procellini and his team and was deemed successful. Marco will begin rehab immediately, and his return to the track will be assessed during the next 48 hours.

Luca Marini also underwent collarbone surgery after his accident in the Sprint Race in India and was forced to miss the Japanese GP. His return to the Mandalika GP hasn’t yet been decided.
