MotoGP, The trip to India is an Odyssey, but the GP will take place 'at all costs'

Many professionals were unable to leave due to lack of visas, the priority is to race this weekend and IRTA will cover the costs for booking new flights

MotoGP: The trip to India is an Odyssey, but the GP will take place 'at all costs'

Yesterday morning we wrote about the problems of the world championship teams in flying to India due to the delay in receiving visas and the situation worsened during the day. Virtually no team has received the necessary documentation for all its members and today many professionals were blocked at the airport and were forced to postpone their departure.

A local agency chosen by Fairstreet Sports, the organizer of the Indian Grand Prix, handles the visas. To say that something went wrong is superfluous and now the paddock is in chaos. Some managers, mechanics and technicians managed to get on board, others had to return home hoping that their coveted visa will arrive in the next few hours.

Changing flights, however, has a significant cost which weighs on the budgets of the teams, especially the smaller and less wealthy ones of Moto2 and Moto3. For this reason, IRTA has sent a communication to all teams guaranteeing that it will bear the additional costs for new bookings.

Now the game is underway and all that remains is to dance: the bikes will have to take to the track on Friday and by then everything will have to be ready, and, above all, the teams will have to be complete. It won't be easy, but now the GP is confirmed and Dorna certainly doesn't want to cancel it at the last minute.

The world championship moves almost two thousand people for a race, and, for the moment, the local organizers have not managed to live up to their task. Hoping that at least the riders won't have to run into certain problems, but even on this point there are rumours circulating that aren't exactly reassuring.
