Valentino Rossi was present at the Red Bull Ring to closely follow his riders and spoke live with Sky after the race.
One of the topics they covered was Marco Bezzecchi’s future, since his name is at the center of negotiations. On one hand, there’s a chance for an official bike in Pramac. On the other, he could remain with Mooney VR46.
Valentino tried to clarify things: “Almost certainly Bezzecchi will stay with us in 2024, ” he said. “I’m, in fact, pushing for this. Namely, keeping both Luca and Marco. It's true that we won’t have the factory bike next year, since there will be those from the Pramac team. But this doesn’t mean it’ll be a problem, given that you then have to start from scratch when you change teams, and your crew chief does’t necessarily follow you, as the work group does. I’m confident about Marco staying. He’s grown a lot in recent years.”
The Doctor then added: “Bezzecchi has taken important steps and is a rider who has speed. This is a fundamental aspect. Obviously, other aspects need to be improved, but Marco is a fast rider, and that’s clear to everyone.”
