Immediately after the Superbike’s Most round, Alvaro Bautista left for Bologna and then headed for Misano, where he was going to test the Ducati MotoGP again, for a two-day test between Tuesday, August 1st and Wednesday, August 2nd.

A real full immersion for the World Champion, along with Ducati test rider Michele Pirro. Bautista was satisfied with that test, to the extent that he said the Desmosedici felt increasingly his own.

But now there’s a last step he has to take, represented by whether or not he’ll participate as a MotoGP wildcard. As required by regulations, the request must be submitted 90 days before the IRTA event, and it must then be accepted. Considering the MotoGP and Superbike calendar, all clues point to the Sepang Grand Prix, scheduled for November 12th.

If Alvaro were to chose to race, the appointment would coincide with his return to the MotoGP, five years after his last race. But the deadline expires on Saturday, and we’re still waiting for an answer from Ducati-Aruba.

Seeing Bautista in action with the Ducati in Sepang would certainly be of great interest to everyone, especially his fans. All we have to do now is wait.
