There was a big party in Misano for the Aprilia All Stars, with bikes and also riders, including Maverick Viñales. The Spanish rider had fun on Saturday, participating at the end of the event in a scooter race, which Max Biaggi ended up winning.
The event on the Italian Riviera was a chance to meet all of the Noale constructor’s fans and, at the same time, take stock of 2023.
“This event was a pleasure,” he said. “I’m a person who loves to ride motorcycles, and I want to send a message of support to all the populations affected by the recent emergency. What can I say about the Aprilia All Stars. There are some fantastic bikes, especially the two-strokes. I’m sorry that I entered the world championship only in the last year of the 125s, and I didn’t get the chance to ride the 250s.”
What struck you about these two-strokes?
“The two-stroke engine is incredible. It’s pure power. Then, as we all know, we have the MotoGPs.”
It’s quite a generational leap.
“Romano made an impressive bike with the RS-GP, despite the fact that the level of the championship is very high. It’s amazing how much he’s revolutionized the Aprilia in these three years.”
Now, you're only missing the last piece: winning.
“The victory is there. We can taste it. We know it’s coming. There are some things to improve, because I’ve made mistakes on some occasions. We’re pleased with this first part of the season.”
So this Ducati isn’t as distant as it seems …
“Ducati has a good bike, but so do we. I think we’re ready to win.”
