SBK: Bautista lays down the law in Misano, with rain and shine

Bad weather is complicating the plans for this second and final day of tests at Misano for the Superbike. The riders found a wet track this morning after last night, but the track then slowly improved.

Alvaro Bautista and his Ducati marked the morning reference at 1’33”850 before it started raining.  The Spanish rider was at over nine tenths from Scott Redding’s BME, while Rinaldi’s Ducati finished 3rd, one second behind his teammate’s time trial.

Another Panigale reached a 4th place: namely, Go Eleven team’s Oettl, followed by Baz’s BMW  and Vierge’s Honda that showcased a new swing arm in Misano. Lorenzo Baldassarri came in 8th, while Lecuona and Locatelli finished in the top ten before Florian Marino’s Kawasaki.

As mentioned earlier, the morning was affected by bad weather, and many riders didn’t take to the track when the track was in better conditions. This was the case with Toprak (who only came in 12th), as well as Gardner, Bassani, and Aegerter.
