MotoGP, Morbidelli attacks the FIM: "There is no dialogue and they only know how to punish you"

“With them there is not the slightest discussion and they keep you in the dark about everything without giving reasons either to us or to you in the media. The problem with this MotoGP is the tyres, after two laps the race is over"

MotoGP: Morbidelli attacks the FIM:

Franco Morbidelli is furious at the end of the Spanish GP, which saw him finish in eleventh position thanks to the long lap penalty handed to him yesterday by the FIM Steward Panel. This was precisely one of the issues dealt with by the Yamaha rider, however after talking about today's race.

"In my opinion, a big reason for all these accidents is the tyres - he said - each rider's race depends on how many positions you gain at the start and where you find yourself after two laps, since then the tyre temperature rises and you can't do anything more, except to cool them down and figure out how to stay upright. In the end this is a rebus to which you are subjected throughout the race”.

Clear words those of the Italian-Brazilian.

“Right now the weak point is the tyres, especially the front when it warms up, in fact everyone gains positions at the start. In fact, I believe that in the cooler races we won't see the riders go crazy in the first two laps and a weekend like Austin proves it. In these conditions, however, a big factor is where you find yourself after the first two laps".

He then shifted his attention to the penalty handed down yesterday by the race direction.

“It was very funny and it would be interesting for the Safety Commission to explain why, since they didn't do it with me. I asked for an explanation, but I didn't understand what was the reason behind their thinking to judge that my manoeuvre was ambitious. I would also like to hear what they have to say to you and I wonder why these people can't justify their choices with the media. Here they only tell the riders and that's it."

Today it was Quartararo who was punished.

“It was a racing incident and we are all like that for these tyres. I wonder why these people who decide don't speak up. The FIM keeps us in the dark about many things and there is no dialogue with anyone, both with the riders and with the journalists. So I ask myself: how can we improve? They have their idea, the riders have another and we don't discuss anything. We only talk to them when they have to punish us."
