MotoGP, Fast by Prosecco Austin, Pernat: "Bagnaia, terrible mistake!"

"Four different bikes in the first four places is a good result, everyone was there except KTM. On paper, this would show that all the bikes seem to be on a par, but the reality is quite different"

Carlo Pernat, as usual, was outspoken in giving his critical opinion on the GP of the Americas.

"Apart from the very stuffy weather, Austin was the GP of crashes. There were probably the most crashes I've ever seen in years of the sport.

Four different bikes in the top positions is a good result, everyone was there except KTM. On paper this would show that all the bikes appear to be equal, but the reality is quite different.

Bagnaia's crash was a terrible mistake, I hope he is not going back to be the one we saw in 2022. I can't understand how he still managed to score zero points despite being the strongest rider. Aprilia also did well, despite the bad start, Vinales showed his potential as a true competitor.

In the current MotoGP, overtaking is very difficult, he must make better starts. Thanks to some crashes, he was able to climb back up to 4th place. This was the first GP where Ducati didn't dominate. Marini rode well and took his first podium in MotoGP with an excellent 2nd place. He is certainly growing as a rider, but this GP was out of the ordinary: only 13 riders completed the race, too few, with 3 test riders among them.

Clearly Austin is a difficult track, the tarmac wasn't in the best condition. Of the previous winners, Marquez, Enea and Rins, only Rins was on track today. This circuit rewards the rider over the bike.

Moto2 also offered a great show, with two phenomenal riders who fought for the win right up to the last lap: Acosta and Arbolino. Both are strong riders who could move up to MotoGP the following year, and their race was probably the most exciting event of the day here in Austin. Moving on to Jerez, hopefully there won't be many crashes, I prefer to see more overtaking."
