A new bridge connecting the parking and hospitality areas with the paddock was placed yesterday at the 66-year-old historic Laguna Seca racetrack.

"The new bridge at Laguna Seca is a long overdue investment," said Luis Alejo, chairman of the Monterey County Board of Supervisors. "This demonstrates the Board of Supervisors' true commitment to properly maintain our world-renowned racetrack so that we can continue to attract sporting events and tourism to Monterey County and the entire region."

The track will close again on May 16 to begin complete resurfacing of the track. The entire project will be fully completed, groomed and ready for America's premier motorcycle series, the MotoAmerica Superbike SpeedFest July 7-9.

This project represents the largest improvement to the iconic track since the Hospitality Pavilion was built in 2006 and the last repaving in 2007.
