Quartararo had something to say about Nakagami after the contact between the two on the first lap that pushed the French rider back into last place: “A kamikaze maneuver,” was Fabio’s definition. Takaaki wasn’t penalized by the Stewards, and he doesn’t think he did anything wrong.

From the outside, it looked I was a bit too aggressive. Honestly, at the time, I thought I could overtake him, but I lost the apex,” the Japanese LCR team rider explained. “It wasn’t crazy. We touched each other slightly, but races are like that. I have nothing to say. I made no mistake. I apologize because he lost positions, but he didn’t fall.

After this episode, Nakagami’s race wasn’t exciting, and he finished in 13th place.

I had problems with the Plexiglass of the dome right from the start. It was completely foggy, and I couldn’t see anything. I had to stay outside,” he revealed. “I didn’t expect this problem. It was frustrating and difficult to concentrate. It was a tough race. The grip was good, but the electronics weren’t in order. I had very invasive controls, and they didn’t help me ride smoothly. I expected to be raster after the warm-up, so I’m a bit disappointed.”
