MotoGP: DATE - Pol Espargarò: fractured dorsal vertebrae and jaw

An important update on Pol Espargarò’s conditions after an accident in the final minutes of the FP2, which had made everyone fear the worst. Fortunately, the rider is not in danger, but his injuries seem to be quite serious.

According to Dorna, the Spanish rider fractured his jaw and dorsal vertebrae and suffered severe lung trauma. Pol will remain under observation at the hospital in Faro. There is no information regarding the possible need for surgery to stabilize the veterbal fractures.

Pol won’t be able to ride for several months, so GasGas (KTM) will be forced to appoint a replacement. Naturally, the first that comes to mind is Dani Pedrosa who, in any case, had to race in Jerez as a Wild Card and could be called to replace Pol. But Jonas Folger also joined KTM this year, so Pedrosa isn’t the only option available.

We’ll be waiting for further updates on Espargarò’s conditions.
