The Portimão Sprint Race ended in the worst way possible for Enea Bastianini. Luca Marini crashed into him and knocked him to the ground during the second lap. He was transported to the medical center where X-rays revealed a fracture of the right scapula, as Tardozzi explained when interviewed by Sky. A bad blow for the Ducati rider.
Enea will be transported to Portimão to figure out if his fracture is partial or incomplete and if surgery will be needed. So his Portimão weekend is over, and his participation in the Rio Hondo round, scheduled for next weekend in Argentina, is also at serious risk.
Carlo Pernat hopes to see him again in Austin, even if the manager from Liguria thinks there’s a risk that his rider might also miss the American round. We’ll be waiting for further updates.
