MotoGP: The triplane of the Blue Baron: Yamaha adds more wings to the M1

The aerodynamic experiments at Yamaha are continuing, this time entrusted to Franco Morbidelli. Yesterday the Italian rider tested a new fairing with two side wings in the Portimao tests. This morning, a further evolution appeared on his M1 with another pair of spoilers on the fairing.

After years of immobility in this respect, during the winter the Iwata technicians have been pushing hard on the study of aerodynamics and many innovations followed from last year's Valencia tests onwards. "Even too many" smiled Quartararo yesterday, but he however is not testing these evolutions on his M1s. Indeed, even the lower diffusers have disappeared from his fairing for the moment.
