Nicolò Bulega has taken a liking to it. After the Borgo Panigale manufacturer returned to victory in the Supersport World Championship almost twenty years later, the Aruba.it Ducati rider did it again in Race 2 at Phillip Island. Yesterday on the rain-soaked asphalt, today in optimal conditions (HERE the report of the race). However, the result remains unchanged. Two triumphs in two days and the ex-World Championship rider flies away from Australia with full points. Next week a new challenge in Indonesia, where for obvious reasons they will be the pairing to beat.

"It's impossible to have a better weekend than this, we just missed out on the pole - began the Ducati man - we had a bit of luck, but the important thing was to be in the right place at the right time. Last year It was a transitional season for the new technical project, we had to understand our real potential. Starting this winter, we worked on the areas where we knew we needed to improve, but I trained every day thinking of only one goal. Our sacrifices have paid off."

How do you manage to extract all the potential from the Panigale V2 955?

"I wouldn't want to say it because it's a secret - he joked - or rather, it's my theory. You must try to be as clean as possible. Otherwise, you'll crash, riding to the limit in every corner doesn't pay off in terms of lap times".

Bulega is rebuilding his career in Supersport after years of disappointment and lack of satisfaction. A reality congenial to him, from every point of view.

"Humanly, few times have I felt so at ease in an environment. When a rider feels good within a team, everything becomes easier, even when looking for performance on the track".

Today Bulega had to deal with his compatriot Stefano Manzi, on paper one of his main rivals in the run-up to the world title: are you on good terms?

"When we were kids, we didn't get along very well - he admitted - as we got older, however, we realized that we were two similar guys in character. We became friends a bit more when we both met again inside the VR46 Riders Academy. Each one of us probably understood that we aren’t dickheads."
