Honda needs to work hard to improve the RC213V and from what can be seen in Marc Marquez's garage, the Japanese engineers are getting busy. The Spaniard has four bikes at his disposal: one is the 2022 for back-to-back comparison (the one in Repsol livery) and the other three are the 2023 prototypes (with the carbon black fairing).

Focusing on the new bikes, we see important aerodynamic differences. Compared to the previous year, both have a differently shaped front fairing: much more tapered and with a different airbox intake design. Marc is also trying out very different wings.

The differences continue with the fairing, where they are more marked. The first recalls the 2022 one and the evolutions seen in the Valencia and Jerez tests (with Bradl) and is characterized by the diffusers in the lower part.

The real innovation, however, can be seen on the other RC213V: where a 'step' on the fairing is clearly visible, a solution first introduced by Aprilia. Honda had experimented in this sense during the tests at Misano last year, but this solution is much more refined than the first one, even if not as extreme as the one used on the Noale bikes.

Another detail is that one bike (the one with the lower diffusers) has a tail with wings, which is 'smooth' on the other one.
