Miguel Oliveira and Pol Espargarò were in Portimao riding around the track for training on the same days that the SBK teams were having all official riders test their respective bikes. The Portuguese will ride in 2023 on the Aprilia managed by Team RNF, while the Spaniard returns to the KTM family to embrace the Tech3 challenge with the Gas Gas brand. Yet neither was in Portimao riding an Aprilia or a KTM, but both on a Yamaha R1.
In Pol's case, it is a matter of making a virtue of necessity, since KTM (and obviously Gas Gas) does not have a full-displacement supersport bike on its list with which to train on the track. While for Miguel, it is probably simply a matter of waiting for him to be provided with an Aprilia RSV4 Factory exactly as happened with Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargarò so that he can train between the kerbs without 'betraying' the Noale-based manufacturer.
