In a few days Ducati will present its new team on the snows of Madonna di Campiglio. Following the obvious confirmation of the world champion Bagnaia, the new entry will be Bastianini who will as a result make his debut in a factory team in MotoGP. For Enea it will be an important test and for which he shows no fear, as he declared in an interview granted to La Repubblica.
“I can no longer afford any uncertainties - he admitted - I'll have to adapt to the working method of the factory team and manage the pressure. I'm calm, I feel I was born for this: I'm only interested in being fast".
Many observers think that an exciting rivalry will be sparked off between him and Pecco: two Italians on an Italian motorbike.
“There is rivalry, but first friendship - underlined the Beast - We have known each other since we were kids and for the first time we are in the same team. I respect him, I will have a lot to learn. But he will be my first opponent."
Already last year the two crossed wheels on tracks, fighting for victory against each other. Those are the races that Bastianini likes the most.
"I'm an old school type: instinctive, few calculations and a lot of passion - he described himself - I would like MotoGP to return to these sorts of battles: if it were up to me, racing would only be wheel-to-wheel".
He would like to get involved in a battle with one rider in particular, Marc Marquez who, after a couple of complicated years, seems ready to return to his former level.
"Just look at the numbers, Marc has won more than anyone else: this year he will be the great protagonist, the favourite - Enea has no doubts - I'm sure we'll see a champion in top form again and it will be a pleasure to battle with him".
