VIDEO - Ducati Panigale V4 SP2 beats Corvette, Porsche, and Audi in drag race

Horsepower is fine, so is variable displacement and a different aerodynamics. But, in the end, which is the fastest? This question can have many answers, because each vehicle expresses itself best in a given area. But when it comes to acceleration races, the most brutal of confrontations is the one that determines a winner without appeal

In this case, the acceleration race compared the new 2023 Corvette Z06 (and its extraordinary 5.5-liter and 8600-rpm V-8 engine) with the world’s fastest, naturally-aspirated rear-wheel drive and mid-engine cars, and with a motorcycle.

Representing the 4-cylinder engine is the 15,500 rpm Ducati Panigale SP2, the high-end Ducati superbike destined for the track. Instead, the 6-cylinder Porsche 911 GT3 is the benchmark among naturally-aspirated engines, with over 125 hp/liter and 9,000 rpms. Last but not least is the Audi R8 Performance V10 Spyder RWD, which boasts a 8700 rpm V-10 engine, the same as the Lamborghini Huracan.

In this episode of Cammisa’s Ultimate Drag Race Replay, the Webby Award-winning automotive journalist is joined by SCCA Hall of Fame race car driver Randy Pobst and MotoAmerica Supersport champion rider Josh Herrin.
