The last round of the Northeast Regional Motocross Championship was tainted black on Sunday, October 30th with the death of Andrea Simeon.

Member of the Tre Pini di Montebelluna club, the 26-year-old from Sernaglia della Battaglia was racing in the Mx2 category on the Citta di Mantova-Tazio Nuvolari circuit when he lost control of his Yamaha 250. The bike reared up, perhaps due to a mechanical failure, and Simeon flew over the track, crashing his bike against a tree located a few meters from the artificial hill.

The rider from Veneto was then transported by ambulance to the hospital in Mantua in very serious condition. He died a few hours later.
