Not only will the MotoGP title be awarded at Valencia, but the battle for Moto2 honours is also wide-open. Ogura, in Malaysia, had the opportunity to increase his lead over Fernandez, but the Japanese rider threw it all away with a crash in the closing laps and now it is the Spaniard who has the advantage.

Augusto thus arrives at the last GP of the season 9.5 points ahead of Ai and everything will be decided on Sunday. The combinations for one or the other to become a champion are many, we take a look at them below.

Augusto Fernandez is world champion if:

 

- he finishes on the podium

- he finishes 4th or 5th and Ogura doesn't win

- he finishes 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th and Ogura finishes no better than 3rd

- he finishes 10th, 11th or 12th and Ogura doesn't get on the podium

- he finishes 13th or 14th and Ogura finishes no better than 5th

- he finishes 15th and Ogura finishes no better than 6th

- he gets no points and Ogura finishes no better than 7th

Ai Ogura is world champion if:

 

- he wins and Fernandez don't get on the podium

- he finishes 2nd and Fernandez finishes no better than 6th

- he finishes 3rd and Fernandez finishes no better than 10th

- he finishes 4th and Fernandez finishes no better than 13th

- he finishes 5th and Fernandez finishes no better than 15th

- he finishes 6th and Fernandez gets no points
