The TT has claimed another victim, five months after the accident.

In fact, Olivier Lavorel passed away in France, where he had been repatriated by medical plane.

As you may recall two minutes into the race it had been suspended because rookies Chanal and Lavorel had run off the road against a low wall at 'Ago's Leap.' The spot is very famous for a photo taken in 1970 of Giacomo Agostini with the MV Agusta making the famous jump.

It was erroneously reported by the organizers the same evening the death of passenger Lavorel, but a few days later they admitted they had made a mistake: it was the rider, César Chanal, who did not survive.

So this year the death toll with Lavorel rises to six: Mark Purslow, César Chanal, Davy Morgan, Roger and Bradley Stockton.

This death brings the death count since the start of the Isle of Man TT in 1911 to 266 fatalities.
